The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) is focusing on taking action to prevent corruption in West Papua Province.
“Later on August 1, the KPK team will come again. Their arrival is to monitor and evaluate corruption prevention actions that have been agreed upon by regional heads,” said West Papua Regional Secretary, Nataniel Mandacan in Manokwari on Tuesday.
The KPK is quite serious in targeting West Papua in preventing corruption. Last week, a different team from the Corruption Eradication Commission came to Manokwari to encourage an increase in the realization of state officials’ wealth report (LHKPN).
On that occasion, the team carried out technical guidance on filling in the LHKPN E-Filling which was centered at the provincial Inspectorate Office in Manokwari. The regional heads attended and participated in the activity.
“The team that will come in August will be from the Regional Office IX of the KPK in North Sulawesi, Central Sulawesi, Maluku and North Maluku, Papua and West Papua. They consist of prevention and enforcement,” said Nataniel.
The Regional Secretary appealed to the OPD leaders to prepare the required data, among others related to the management of local government assets and administration of all activities.
”The KPK wants to know whether the regional government including the regency / city is serious or not in preventing corruption. That can be seen from asset management and administration, including licensing and compliance related to LHKPN,” said Nataniel again.
Although the presence of the KPK team was aimed at monitoring and evaluating, the Regional Secretary hoped that this would be a concern of government officials who did not implement asset management and budget accountability properly.
”Prevention will record if there are things that are not right. Also remember that, in the group there was an area of prosecution, they would also take notes. The OPD leaders must attend the meeting later,” said the Secretary again.
