Eguwai Diti Gas Station is Inaugurated, Dogiyai People are Happy

The difficulty of the people in Mapia district and the four newly created districts has been getting fuel oil for many years, finally being answered by the presence of the Eguwai Diti Gas Station (SPBU) in Bomomani, Mapia, Dogiyai district, Papua, which was inaugurated on Tuesday (07/09/2019) yesterday.

“We are very happy with this gas station because now my motorbike is not difficult to fill the fuel, because usually we have to go to Moanemani, if we are not forced to buy retail even though the price is expensive,” Yohan Tigi, a Bomomani resident, told Reuters . com , Wednesday (07/10/2019).

Mapiha community according to him, expressed his joy with a thanksgiving party after the inauguration of the Eguwai Diti gas station.

“The community is very happy because it will be very helpful, especially the owner of this gas station is a native of Mapia,” he said.

Eguwai Diti compact gas station owner, Fransiskus Wakei, said that in addition to having experienced the difficulty of getting gasoline several years ago, he was concerned that seeing Mapiha residents was always difficult with fuel.

“That is the reason why I struggled to present this gas station,” he said.

Frans admitted, his gas station had been operating since May 12, 2019. “But just yesterday we can formalize it.”

During this time, said Wakei, the price of fuel purchased by Mapiha residents ranged from Rp15,000 per liter, sometimes even a liter could cost Rp25,000. Fuel is usually sold by migrant traders. Native people are only a few.

“At our gas stations, fuel prices are the same as those in Java. For premiums of 6,450 rupiah per liter, and diesel fuel for 5,150 rupiah per liter,” Frans said.

Gas stations built on 30 × 45 square meters in Bomomani village, Frans added, the only one-price fuel selling place, is believed to provide benefits to the community and contribute to economic development at lower prices, especially in Mapia District with 7 villages ( Bomomani, Gopouya, Dawaikunu, Abaimaida, Obaikagopa, Magode, Diyoudimi) and two pemekaran districts (Sukikai and Piyaiye) there are no road access, while new highways pass through Central and West Mapia districts.

“It’s really amazing because this gas station has helped our community,” said Yohanes Butu, Mapia district head.

“Fuel is transported by land transportation from Nabire and the distance is around 186 kilometers. The products provided by this gas station are premium and diesel with 30 drum storage facilities,” he explained through a press release sent to reporters on Wednesday (07/10/2019).

The presence of this gas station according to Fanda, the realization of energy justice and fulfillment of the fuel needs of the Dogiyai community which will be enjoyed to remote villages.

“The effort to establish this gas station should be appreciated because the sons of Mapia are able to answer the needs of fuel here. “This opportunity has been used well, and has the support of the central and regional governments, starting from the licensing stage to operating today,” he explained.

For this reason, he suggested that the local community be able to make the best use of this gas station because the price is quite cheap.

“From now on, residents of Mapia can easily get BBM at the same price as in Jakarta, Surabaya, Makassar and other regions in Indonesia, namely Premium Rp.6,450 per liter and Solar Rp.5,150 per liter,” Fanda explained.

Before the existence of this gas station, Mapia residents usually bought fuel at a price of IDR 10,000 to IDR 15,000 per liter purchased at retailers. Meanwhile, the closest official channeling agency is at a distance of 30 km, the Mauwa gas station in Moanemani, the capital of Dogiyai district.

The Eguwai Diti Compact Gas Station was inaugurated by PT Pertamina (Persero), the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas). Region Manager Retail Fuel Marketing VIII attended PT Pertamina (Persero) Fanda Chrismianto, head of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Hufron Asrofi, and Regent of Dogiyai represented by John Butu, Mapia district head. A number of guests and invitations also witnessed the inauguration, also enlivened by the typical “Gaidai” dance by the local community.

The inauguration of this gas station was listed as the 34th one-price channeling institution out of a total of 40 points in 2019.
