Governor Reminds West Papuan ASN of Discipline to Carry Out the Task

West Papua Governor, Dominggus Mandacan reminds all State Civil Servants (ASN) in the area to be disciplined in carrying out their duties.

“The salary we receive comes from the community through taxes, levies, etc. In return, we simply carry out the duties responsibly,” the governor said in Manokwari on Tuesday.

He stated, the working hours of civil servants from Monday to Thursday start from 08:00 to 15:00. Friday from 08.00 to 13.30.

Besides salary, ASN in West Papua has the right to income improvement benefits (TPP). The TPP value paid by the West Papua Provincial Government is much higher than in other regions.

“The TPP is given to encourage ASN to be more diligent, to arrive on time, to return on time and to carry out its responsibilities properly. Don’t work as we please,” he said.

“If you get out of your house, you wear official uniforms, you have to come and work in the office. Don’t stop at other places and do negative things outside,” he added.

He also appealed to the heads of agencies to carry out supervision in stages. Reprimand until sanctions must be given to ASN who repeatedly neglect their duties.

“Once or twice give a warning, if you repeatedly repeat the name, then you must give a sterner warning and sanctions,” said the governor.

According to Mandacan, payment of salaries for ASNs that do not heed the reprimand must be postponed until the relevant person has deterred and improved his performance.

“For ASN who are diligent in the state, they are not silent. The regional government has prepared TPP. The value is quite large depending on performance, position and standard of rank. Thus the salary is intact and can be TPP again,” he concluded.
