To Success the 2020 PON in Papua Province, PUPR Ministry Builds 4 Sports Arena

The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) through the Directorate General of Cipa Karya is conducting construction of four sports arenas in support of the implementation of the XX National Sports Week (PON) in the Papua Province in 2020.

The development of the sports arena was carried out in Jayapura Regency, namely the Aquatimc and Istora of Papua Rise in the Kampung Harapan Sports Area, East Sentani District and Cricket Arena and Hockey Field (Indoor and Outdoor) in Doyo Baru Village, Waibu District.

“Infrastructure development in the framework of supporting XX 2020 PON in Papua, must be considered in detail from the design stage, the construction stage to the supervision phase,” said PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono some time ago.

The development of the Aquatic arena has been started since December 2018 using the Ministry of PUPR’s APBN budget of Rp 389.63 billion, by the construction service provider PT. Waskita Karya and is targeted to be completed by July 2020.

Arena Aquatic will be equipped with pool system facilities in accordance with the Federation Internationale de Natation (FINA) standard which is the parent of the international swimming sports organization.

Then also equipped with lighting which includes sports and floodlighting areas with standard field of play (FOP), timing system, master clock on the 1st floor, 2nd floor, and scoring board.

Arena Aquatic will also be equipped with sound and air conditioning facilities, CCTV, and audience stands. In addition, additional facilities such as structuring the area for parking, landscaping, drainage, and supporting buildings are also adjusted to regional boundaries.

At present, the first point is Bore Pile casting, the supply of Bore Pile On Site material, then Bore Pile casting and the manufacture of Keet Directors, as well as the access road for workers.

For the construction of Rising Istora Papua, it has been implemented since November 2018 with a budget of Rp. 263.87 billion carried out by the construction service provider PT. PP and is targeted to be completed by June 202. At present the progress reaches 10.04 percent.

The construction of Istora in Bangkit Papua is complemented by the construction of a plaza area around Istora, also equipped with parking areas for vehicles inside and outside the Istora area.

The work of Istora in Rising Papua is currently entering the construction of column construction, PDA Test work, Pile Cap excavation, installation of Formwork Pile Cap and Pile Cap casting.

Furthermore, the construction of the Cricket arena and the Hockey (Indoor and Outdoor) field was held in December 2018 by the contractor PT. Nindya Karya with a budget of Rp. 277.1 billion with the target completed by June 2020.
