Papua Governor, Lukas Enembe, meets with the DPP Chairperson of the Nasdem Party, Surya Paloh. To the Media Boss of the Group, Lukas promised the support of a number of regional heads in West Papua to Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin’s pair of presidential and vice presidential candidates in the 2019 Presidential Election.
“Mr. Lukas Enembe has expressed the readiness of the West Papuan people led, all West Papuan regional heads have agreed that one determination to give support to Mr. Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin,” said Surya Paloh at the Nasdem DPP Office, Jakarta, on Wednesday, September 26 2018.
In the same place, Luke confirmed this. He explained that he had summoned 28 regents and one mayor to support Jokowi-Ma’ruf Amin.
“There are 3.5 million West Papuan voices. So last night I called 28 regents, one mayor agreed to sign all that, supporting Jokowi-Ma’ruf as the second president and vice president and I think all the votes voted for Jokowi,” said Lukas.
Move to Nasdem?
Lukas explained that his visit to Nasdem Party was only a form of support for Jokowi-Ma’ruf. Regarding whether to join it, Lukas did not want to explain this.
“When I talk about the party, I think we will see it on the way,” said Lukas.
Lukas also admitted giving support because of Jokowi’s performance. He explained that until now the Democrats had no problems regarding the support he gave.
“Although the attitude was different, but before that I had reported that all West Papuan cadres supported Jokowi. I reported that time. Our attitude was clear, DPP. That was the attitude of the lower roots,” Lukas said.
